5 die in clashes in Bangladesh's Chittagong Hill

Dhaka: Five people were killed in clashes when Buddhist tribals prevented a minister and senior administration officials from visiting Bangladesh's Chittagong Hill Tracts . Several houses and an office of a UN-funded project were set on fire ,a statue of Lord buddha instalkled at the bananai Buddhist Monastery was damaged as well.Bangladesh's only district having a significant Buddhist population has witnessed clashes between the locals and those settled there as part of a policy to retain hold of the restive area.
